So I went to see Alexander last night with LifeGuardChic.  Both of us walked away fairly unimpressed (I was going to say "disappointed" but I've learned better than to have expectations when Hollywood is involved).  The movie did remind me of a line from Clone High:

JFK: Do you mind? Some of us are trying to nail Catherine the Great here... Or should I say Catherine the So-So?

From teh Uni:

"Halloween-related activities can be fun, but they are not an opportunity for carelessness, insensitivity and disrespect toward others. ... Portrayals of ethnicity and race, gender, class, religions, cultures or sexual orientations, just to name a few, may be considered in poor taste or offensive."

Damn.  Now what am I going to do with all this black shoe polish?

"Authorities in the state of Chihuahua came up with the plan after the people of Atascaderos appealed for help in dealing with an estimated 250,000 rats. ... Experts launched an appeal asking people to donate unwanted cats, in the hope of recruiting an attack force of up to 700 animals."

Maybe St. Patrick knows how to take care of rats?

Print Story IM Skillz
Diary
By Vertical Frankenstein (Wed Aug 04, 2004 at 01:01:43 PM EST) (all tags)
My Uni. just sent me a postcard inviting me to some workshop on academic success.  Among the half-dozen bulleted reasons I should attend include: "put your IM shorthand skills to use in the classroom."  This can only end badly.

"SOC 101: rite ppr l8tr about blk ppl and like slavary.  OMG LOL, the prof said negro!!!!11!"

One more reason to never skip class; copying notes will require eye-gouging.
